Fluency Friends partners children with an adult “reading buddy” to practice and improve their reading skills while making positive connections.

The trip to Michener included an overview of the school as well as highlights about student success, long-running programs and other initiatives.

“We are trying to improve busing for our students so that it can be one of the best experiences it can be during the school day,” Superintendent Nate Parker said.

Participation numbers are steady and on the rise at Adrian Public Schools when it comes to students taking part in fall recreational sports and after-school programming.

The positions are open because Springbrook Middle Schools principal is now the districts superintendent and Adrian High Schools is retiring.

More than 120 volunteers gathered Saturday at Michener Elementary School to pack meals to be sent to help Ukrainian refugees.

Alexander Elementary School and Adrian High School are to have asbestos removal this summer. The district is also looking to provide facelifts to several athletic buildings.

Mondays school board meeting for the Adrian Public Schools board was its first in-person meeting in some time. The board met at Adrian High School.
