Microsoft posted better-than-expected second quarter earnings late Tuesday, with stable growth rates for its key cloud computing division, sending its shares firmly higher in after hours trading.

Microsoft has recorded its slowest sales growth in more than six years in its December quarter of 2022, as it took a $1.2 billion hit after laying off 10,000 people amid poor PC sales globally.

Microsoft has tweeted from its official handle that it has received reports of users being unable to access Microsoft Teams or leverage any features. The tech giant further said that it is investigating the issue.  

Microsoft’s business weakened in December. Now it expects those patterns to continue to play out through March, including in its critical Azure cloud.

Microsoft has posted $52.7 billion in revenue for the previous quarter. While there is decent growth in the cloud, it is mostly offset by declines in the consumer market such as Xbox and Windows.
