Actually opposing him politically. this rally i think was a boisterous one. the president was pretty pumped up and jazzed up as jonathan said compared to how he was earlier in the week. hes obviously feeling a lot of pressure. but one of the things i noticed yesterday is he really emphasized immigration in this particular speech. hes in a part of the country that has seen a big influx of hispanic immigrants over the course of the last decade or so. its a big issue for his base. he went to all of...

Or something. this is about americas national security. this is about our elections and democracy. and the fact that the white house, the president of the united states just cannot make the statement about the threat that exists from russia is ridiculous and shows that hes got -- it makes people think they have something on him. >> let me ask this question of you, evan. can our intelligence community, can our agencies effectively push back against russian interference, the cyber warfare if the p...

Perspectives will be on the ticket. the question is which is on the top of the ticket. >> before miguels piece i mentioned the word impeachment. i want you to listen to something rudy giuliani, the presidents personal attorney said this week while stumping for a republican congressional candidate in new hampshire. >> i have to say this. and i say this in my role not as a lawyer but as a -- as a concerned citizen and republican, but this election is going to be about impeachment or no impeachment...

Interference, the cyber warfare if the presidents not onboard? >> they can do a lot, but they cant do enough. what really needs to happen here is deterrence. because were never going to be able to block every cyber intrusion and disinformation campaign. you just cant do it, so youve to deter. and deterrence the best vehicle for that is through sanctions. that has to be done by congress, which is why the mid-terms are so critical. >> evan mcmullen, good to see you. tonights "last word" is next.

Chuck schumer, referencing the other greatest hits. whats important about that is as he is ramping up, he is not trying to expand the republican base, but fire up his own supporters and get them energized. he has seen a president in his presidency throughout his presidency that has been static in terms of approval ratings. if his party is going to win in the mid-terms and preserve the majorities, its going to be on the basis of every last republican turning out, particularly every last base supp...
