Queen Margrethe and Prince Joachim have sat down together to work through their differences after a turbulent few weeks since the Queen took away princely titles from his children, B.T. reports.

Its been a dramatic week for the Danish Royal Family - after Queen Margarethe II of Denmark announced last week that she would be removing princely titles from four of her grandchildren.

Royal experts told Ekstra Bladet and B.T. that Queen Margrethe had no choice but to issue a statement amid reported animosity within the Danish royal family after Prince Joachim spoke out.

Tonight, Margrethe of Denmark released a statement online saying the decision had been a long time coming and it was made as a Queen, mother and grandmother.

Norwegian publication, Se og Hør, has reported that King Harald V of Norway, 85, is said to be considering stripping the royal title from his daughter Princess Märtha Louise, 51.
