Tennessee State Troopers remain on the look-out for a driver who was involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred directly off of Midland Road. The incident happened just over the Rutherford County line in Bedford County. The man who was killed was on an electric scooter when struck by the oncoming vehicle that fled the scene without rendering aid or calling for help.

GUYTON, Ga. (WTOC) - The Effingham County Sheriffâs Officeâs traffic unit will be shutting down a portion of Midland Road in Guyton Tuesday morning (April 13) to reconstruct an accident as part of an investigation.
Itâs happening on Midland Road between Penny Lane and Courthouse Road. The closure will start at 10 a.m. and is expected to last about two hours.
