On Wednesday, St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman announced that Midtown Development out of Miami will redevelop Tropicana Field’s 86-acre property into a massive space for retail, offices, housing, and green space that may or may not contain a stadium.

St. Pete began its search for developers to reimagine the land located between 5th Ave. S and 1st Ave S., and 16th Street S. and Dr. Martin Luther King in July 2020.
