There are resources to help people struggling with anxiety and depression and their families, as the holiday season arrives in the novel coronavirus pandemic, local experts said. Representatives from counseling and mental health agencies gathered Dec. 12 for Families and Wholeness, a free event held at Church on the North Coast, 4125 Leavitt Road, Lorain. That church opened its sanctuary to allow for safe distances between people as a precaution against COVID-19. The goal was “empowerment for the entire family,” by bringing attention to causes of mental health problems and possible solutions. - Advertisement - The speakers were passionate about encouraging people to get help if they need it to deal with anxiety, grief and depression that can lead to thoughts of suicide or worse, actions that lead to self harm.
