In a 5-3 vote, the Detroit Lakes City Council approved adding neighborhood commercial zoning to the city's zoning ordinance, allowing for a mix of residential and select businesses in some areas.
The Detroit Lakes Area Community Foundation recently announced that nearly $40,000 in grants were awarded to eight recipients in the lakes area. The grant awards were announced Friday, April 28.
