Law Enforcement Appreciation event held

Local law enforcement officers were honored this week for keeping the Monroe County community safe.
State Rep. TC Clements, R-Temperance, hosted the Law Enforcement Appreciation event at the Robert A. Hutchinson Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #113 in Monroe where he honored the 2020 Monroe County Officers of the Year.
“Members of law enforcement are being ridiculed and scrutinized more than ever before, affecting morale, recruitment and retention,” Clements said. “As a former officer and deputy chief of police, I have heard my share of criticism. What I want these officers, as well as all of law enforcement, to know is that we appreciate the work they do in keeping us, our families and our neighbors safe.
