MALIBU On Monday, February 8, the city of Malibu announced that they have received a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grant to fund the City’s proposed outdoor emergency siren system.
“Wildfire has always been Malibu’s number-one public safety threat, but the size, duration and severity of the Woolsey Fire was unprecedented, and showed us the dangerous new normal of drought, climate change and California mega-fires,” said Mayor Mikke Pierson. “I am proud of the progress we have made in developing strategies to be even more prepared for disasters, including this siren system, which could be a powerful step toward community-wide preparedness.”

A MUDDLED MALIBU CITY COUNCIL MEETS, AND ADJOURNS
If evidence is needed why Malibu’s governance is floundering under the weight of vacuous leadership and misanthropic management, just witness a meeting of its City Council.
That was my studied conclusion after viewing nearly six tortured hours of mostly bloviating and befuddlement from both sides of the putative dais, in a Zoom format necessitated by the pandemic, of Monday night’s council meeting. Actually, it is not over yet, having been adjourned until Thursday, at 5 P.M.
I tuned in curious to see what reactions, if any, there would be in the wake of a pejorative demand letter written by a lawyer representing City Manager Reva Feldman, complaining at length of being harassed by Councilman Bruce Silverstein to the point she is considering resigning, but only for $375,000, the remaining value of her contract, and no investigation of her rocky tenure being questioned in the so

MALIBU, CA Reva Feldman may not complete her term as Malibu city manager, her lawyer said in a letter to interim City Attorney John C. Cotti, which was obtained by Patch.
Feldman will resign because of unprecedented personal and professional attacks by [Councilman] Bruce Silverstein, Feldman s lawyer, Therese Y. Cannata of San Francisco law firm Cannata, O Toole, Fickes & Olson, said in the four-page letter dated Jan. 16.
Feldman s contract was set to expire in May 2022. Feldman will stay until the city finds a successor but seeks a $375,000 buyout of her remaining contract, with benefits, as well as a release of claims and a nondisparagement clause, the letter said.

CITY MANAGER S SCURRILOU$ THREATS
In her four years of her concocted incumbency as Malibu’s overpaid and under achieving City Manager, you had to be impressed by Reva Feldman’s chutzpah.
If only she had served Malibu with that shameless spirit instead of herself and her entourage of staff and special interests, she just could have persevered despite her fumbles in the Woolsey Fire and aftermath and conniving the council.
If you love Malibu you have to beware of Reva’s bag of bureaucratic tricks.
As revealed in a disputable letter from her lawyer, Feldman is now threatening to sue the city while also asking for the $375,000 in pay and benefits left on her remaining sweetheart of a contract that the last City Council gifted her despite the lone objections of Jefferson Wagner.
