The fourth-annual HighSchoolOT volleyball all-state team features 24 players making a second or third appearance on the team, including two who were three-time first-team selections.
This year's field of teams includes: Apex, Cardinal Gibbons, Heritage, Hillside, Millbrook, New Bern, Southern Durham, and Wake Forest. All eight teams made the N.C. High School Athletic Association state playoffs in 2022, including the 4A state champion and the 4A regional runner-up.
Millbrook High School's new head football coach Laymarr Marshall joined HighSchoolOT to preview the 2023 season for the Wildcats. Last year, Millbrook finished with a 13-2 overall record and a 4-1 mark in the NAC 6 4A Conference.
The Providence Day girls, winners of the NCISAA D1 title, took top honors in the girls rankings while the Cuthbertson boys, winners in the NCHSAA 3A, were also No. 1 and followed closely behind by 4A champ Millbrook at No. 2.
