Brevard Public Schools celebrated the expansion of Viera High School with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its impressive new 20,000-square-foot building. The new building, 11 months in the making, will have 350 student stations and will include eight classrooms, three science labs, and space for Brevard Learners Achieving Success Transition.

Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey said Monday during a press conference that the "school discipline policy" at Brevard Public Schools has failed and that principals and teachers are powerless from disciplining students who allegedly disrupt the learning environment.
