An underground coal mine fire in unincorporated Boulder County has been made safer for the surrounding area thanks to significant mitigation work by state officials.

A bobcat with kittens was spotted Thursday, June 23, in the northwestern section of the Boston Hill Open Space area, according to a public service announcement issued Friday morning by the Silver City Police Department.
