Despite the absence of some major brands, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas remains an opportunity to discover the main technological innovations of the year. Below we present a selection of the main announcements from the 2023 edition.

Skyworths bendable OLED TV is on display during CES 2023, alongside other TVs with tech such as mini-LED backlighting. The OEM is also demonstrating its own in-house OS as an alternative to the Google TV of its upcoming outdoor screen at the major Las Vegas conference.

Lenovo has announced an upgraded ThinkBook 16p Gen 4 with Intel Raptor Lake-H and Nvidia RTX 4060 Laptop GPU options. The ThinkBook 16p Gen 4 now comes with a 3.2K 120 Hz mini-LED option along with upgrades to Wi-Fi 6E and a 11-pin pogo connector on the display for attaching the new Magic Bay accessories.

Apple might transition to OLED displays due less demand of mini-LED displays

MSI is teasing a next-generation gaming laptop with a 17.3-inch display that gets so bright it should come bundled with a pair of Oakleys.

According to Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, Apple will opt for OLED displays in both iPad Pro models and the MacBook Air in 2024. This would be a change for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, which currently uses a mini-LED panel, and the MacBook Air and iPad Pro 11, which both use IPS LCDs. Young also claims these devices, including the MacBook Air, will support Apples ProMotion technology with a 120 Hz variable refresh rate.
