The Government of Peru has requested Colombian authorities to hold Sergio Tarache, the man accused of burning Katherine Gomez alive, in pre-trial detention, in the context of an extradition procedure.

Venezuelan national Sergio Tarache, accused of pouring gasoline on 18-year-old Katherine Gomez and setting her ablaze in Lima, will remain in pre-trial detention in Colombia while the legal procedures for his extradition to Peru are carried out.
