Some top officials from Qatar s health sector, who have been leading the country in its battle against COVID-19, received the first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine yesterday.
The officials reiterated that this vaccine has undergone all necessary medical trials and is safe and reliable.
They also urged the public to take the vaccine when provided the opportunity.

The Ministry of Public Health s top officials took the first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday as Qatar entered Day 2 of its biggest immunisation programme to eradicate the pandemic.
Director of Public Health Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al Thani, Co-chairperson of National Pandemic Preparedness Committee and Director of Health Protection and Communicable Diseases Dr Hamad Eid Al Romaihi, Head of Vaccination Dr Soha Al Bayat and Medical Director of HMC’s Communicable Disease Center Dr Muna Al Maslamani were among those who were administered the vaccine on Thursday.

Doha: Qatar has become among the first countries in the world to provide a safe, effective and approved COVID-19 vaccine totally free for its population, as the largest ever vaccination campaign was launched across the country yesterday.
The former president of Qatar University, Dr. Abdullah Al Kubaisi, was the first person who received Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in Qatar.

Qatar on Wednesday rolled out the first phase of the free coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination campaign, with the first jab successfully given to 79-year-old Dr Abdulla Al Kubaisi, a former president of Qatar University.
“As directed by His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, we have worked hard, along with our partners across government, since the early stages of vaccine development at the start of the pandemic to ensure Qatar was among the first countries in the world to provide a safe, effective and approved COVID-19 vaccine totally free for its population.
