The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a diver whose remains were recovered from the water near Painted Cave Preserve on Santa Cruz Island.

Members of the U.S. Coast Guard and the Hollywood Police Department were involved in a search Sunday for a diver who went missing.

A missing diver was located unresponsive off the Riviera Beach Marina Friday, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

The diver’s body was pulled out of the water around 3 p.m.
