Friends and family gathered to remember Australian surfers Jake and Callum Robinson, along with American surfer Jack Carter Rhoad, who were found dead after disappearing during a surfing trip.

Mexican authorities say thieves killed two Australians and an American on a surfing trip in Baja California to steal their truck.

Mexican authorities said Sunday that the bodies discovered south of Ensenada are identified as the three missing surfers: Jack Carter Rhoad from San Diego and Callum and Jake Robinson from Australia.

Prosecutors believe the men were targeted by armed robbers who wanted to steal parts from their truck.

Baja California Attorney General Maria Elena Andrade Ramírez held a Sunday morning news conference where she confirmed the bodies recovered in a 50-foot well Friday are "highly likely that of brothers Jake and Callum Robinson of Australia and Jack Carter Rhoad of San Diego."

An American and two Australian surfers have gone missing in Mexico and investigators believe they were killed. Four bodies have been discovered in a well, according to authorities in Mexico. Three suspects are in custody in relation to the disappearance of the surfers.
