Speaker, madam president , former governor distinguished justices of the Court Representatives of our congressional delegation members of the Hawaii State Legislature other elected officials honored guests family and friends aloha. I am honored to be hear today to deliver my 1st state of the state address. It is of course, a homecoming of sorts with so many familiar faces and friends. Yet there is one major difference cents i last sat amongst you. I am a year older with a few more gray hairs. To say that the last month has been an ey
Parents can afford to live in. [applause] our state has some great Public Schools among the best in america but unfortunately because of yesterdays policies many families are shut out they sit and wait as theyre sons and daughters get another year older and their dreams of providing them with the best Public Education possible slips farther and farther away. This has this has gone on too long. I will not accept this inequality. [applause] how many arizona children should have access to our best Public Schools . My answer is, all of them. [applause] here is what makes the situation even more troubling. Right now theyre are nearly 400,000 empty seats in our Public School system. In fact some are completely vacant. These are educational assets funded by the taxpayer meant to benefit our children and they are going to waste. It is time to put these assets back to work. [applause] here is the plan. No one should be surprised. We have been here before. Nasa dr. James hanson said the protocol will have little effect on temperatures in the 21st century and will take 30 to reduce warming. Even when secretary contradicted lisa jackson in july of 09 of course she was the chairman of the director of the epa at that time, she honestly testified that u. S. Action would not impact world co 2 levels. You dont have to go back to that time because that question i asked at one time sitting right here i said if we were to pass any of these bills at that time would this have the effect of reducing co 2 emissions world wide . She said no it would not. This is not where the problem is. The problem is china and india and so forth. We all know that.
