As of Jan. 25, Student Wellness Services is offering voluntary, asymptomatic COVID-19 testing. The move comes as Queen’s supports Kingston, Frontenac, and Lennox and Addington (KFL&A) Public Health’s plan to implement asymptomatic testing in the region. Photo: Queen’s reported one new case of COVID-19 in residence on Thursday. The University marked all other cases of COVID-19 in the Queen’s community resolved, according to its COVID-19 tracker. There has been a total of 88 cases identified since Aug. 31, including 10 in residence. Queen’s has reported a total of 54 cases since Aug. 31, with 28 of those cases resolved. Since the pandemic began, KFL&A has reported a total of 375 cases. The Queen’s Satellite COVID-19 Testing Centre in Mitchell Hall was set to close on Dec. 10 for the winter break, however, it remained open for limited hours on Thursday and Friday in response to the spike in student cases.
