From a simple cup to a foil-paper, Sithi can make random paraphernalia sing as well. She has entered a new phase of life, and talks to The Daily Star while on the runway to Sylhet.

Abanti Sithi gained recognition through her participation in the reality show "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa" on Zee Bangla, Kolkata's TV channel. Despite being eliminated midway, Abanti distinguished herself not only for her singing but also for her remarkable whistling skills.

Coke Studio Bangla, a cultural phenomenon fuelled by endless debates about meritocracy and even capitalism in music, started season 2 with the highly appreciated “Murir Tin”, blending dialects of Chattogram, Khulna and Sylhet to make an incredible musical mishmash.

An eccentric genius by the name of Hashim Mahmud has been in the limelight for the last few days, for all the right reasons. “Hawa” – the film which has already blended a mysterious, alluring narrative with one of the most tasteful, engaging promotional campaigns in recent memory, has struck gold with “Shada Shada Kala Kala”, a masterclass in rustic songmaking.

The biggest names in hiphop and pop will be performing at “The Hype Festival” on July 1 at ICCB. The line-up consists of Mila, Hridoy Khan, Jalali Set, Xefer, Imran Mahmudul, Tashfee, Mithun Chakra and Black Zang.
