MLA Abbas Ansari, son of jailed gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, was booked in a case related to the blocking of a road in Mau during a post-election celebratory procession in March last year.
The conviction arose out of an FIR which was lodged against Ansari in 1999 stating that he had a gang which committed heinous offences including murder, extortion, kidnapping and abduction.
