KATHMANDU, March 28: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against 20 people over irregularities in the purchase of the Mobile Device Management System (MDMS).
KATHMANDU, Jan 18: The Parliamentary Committee on Education, Health, and Information Technology (MoICIT) under the House of Representatives has directed the government to submit all documents related to the Mobile Device Management System (MDMS) and Telecommunication Traffic Monitoring and Fraud Control System (TERAMOCS).
KATHMANDU, Jan 13: Purushottam Khanal, the chairman of Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA), who has been facing allegations of irregularities in the purchase of Telecommunication Traffic Monitoring and Fraud Control System (TERAMOCS) and purchase of Mobile Device Management System (MDMS), has officially resigned. He also resigned due to disagreements with the government on some policy issues. Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma said that the cabinet meeting accepted Khanal's resignation on Tuesday.
His resignation came following controversies over the procurement of Mobile Device Management System, Teramocs, and Ncell’s share sale including tax disputes with internet service providers.
KATHMANDU, Jan 1: The Mobile Device Management System (MDMS) is all set to be fully implemented from Monday. An official from the Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) stated that all the equipment required for MDMS has been imported and connected after five years of continuous efforts, and the system will likely be fully operational from Monday. According to him, the equipment for the secondary site, the container for the primary site, and other critical equipment have been imported and installed, paving the way for full implementation from January 1.
