Australian-listed technology company Spacetalk has reported results for the year ended 30 June 2023, reporting revenue (ARR) growth of 33% to $8.3m co.
Shoprite to launch its own virtual mobile network

The Shoprite Group – which operates Africa’s largest network of food stores – plans to launch its own mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) to offer cellular services.
This was reportedly revealed by the grocery giant’s CEO Pieter Engelbrecht on Tuesday, during the announcement of the
group’s results for the six months ended December 2020.
“Very soon we will launch our own virtual network to enhance our customer data even further,” Engelbrecht said.
According to Engelbrecht, the group aimed to leverage its petabytes of customer data in this venture.
He did not provide details around a planned launch date or which network Shoprite would use for its virtual network, however.

Amaysim will remain as a standalone brand following Optus’ acquisition of the mobile virtual network operator for $250 million.
The news comes as AGL launches its own first mobile brand, also taking advantage of the Optus network.
Optus completed its purchase of the 10-year-old amaysim business this week, taking on 1.2 million subscribers. As part of the deal, the brand will remain standalone while continuing to tap into the telco’s national mobile network infrastructure. Amaysim is the country’s fourth-largest mobile provider and largest MVNO locally.
