Canadian study permits issued to Indian students saw an 86% drop in the fourth quarter of last year, from 108,940 to 14,910, amid diplomatic tensions. Canadas Immigration Minister, Marc Miller, attributes the decline to India ejecting Canadian diplomats and the diplomatic dispute over the murder of Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
