On Sunday, the UP Police's Special Task Force (STF) team, which is assisting Prayagraj police in the investigation, arrested Atiq Ahmed's brother-in-law, Dr Akhlaq Ahmed, for murder conspiracy and allegedly providing logistical support and shelter to one of the wanted assailants, Guddu Muslim, after the murder.
After leaving the Sabarmati central jail in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Atiq Ahmed, who is being transferred to Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, expressed concern that he might be murdered.
The police also demolished some walls of Atiq’s office and dug the ground during the search operation. The search operation was on till filing of the report.
