BCL factions clash at CMC

CHATTOGRAM: A chase and counter-chase ensued between the two factions of Chattogram Medical College (CMC) unit Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), student wing of the ruling Awami League, on Tuesday afternoon over establishing supremacy at main hostel on the college campus.
Sources said the rival groups loyal to Deputy Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nawfel and former Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin locked in the chase and counter-chase at around 2.30pm.
They chased each other and vandalised some rooms of the main hostel during the incident.
Inspector (investigation) Reaz Uddin Chowdhury of Chawk Bazar Police Station said on receiving information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
