Jabbar for using modern technology in building Digital Bangladesh

DHAKA, Feb 28, 2021 (BSS) – Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar today said the main challenge is to adopt modern technology and utilize the human resources in building ‘Digital Bangladesh’.
Highlighting the goals and objectives of ‘Digital Bangladesh’ vision, he said: “Our challenge is to adopt technology and utilize our human resources. If we cannot do so, we will have to face trouble in the future.”
The minister was speaking as the chief guest at the International Conference on Information and Communication Technology for Sustainable Development, organized by Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) in the capital.

We Think Digitalâ program launched to promote digital literacy

Dhaka, Dec 24, 2020 (BSS) â Facebook, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, ICT Division and a2i, launched âWe Think Digitalâ program to provide digital literacy and citizenship training to promote responsible use of the internet.
State Minister for ICT Divison Zunaid Ahmed Palak launched the program virtually here today, said a press release.
Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury and Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam attended the program as special guest.
The program is a comprehensive training, designed to raise awareness, build capacity and develop digital ambassadorship through a whole-of-government approach including teachers, officials and young professionals to move beyond foundational digital literacy towards responsible digital citizenship.

Work plan prepared to untap blue economy potentials: FM

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen on Thursday said a work plan has been prepared as guideline to untap the potentials of blue economy. Bangladesh considers Blue Economy as one of the cornerstones for its economic growth and socio-economic development, he said.
Dr Momen said blue economy was an integral part of government’s election manifesto. We already have a lot of suggestions, recommendations, outcomes and discussions in the meetings, workshops and seminars. Now, it’s the time to materialise all these and get into pragmatic actions and stop ecocide, said the Foreign Minister.
