A squabble over a parking spot outside a pub in Biccard Street on Saturday evening led to the death of man and a policeman subsequently handing himself over for the crime.

A Limpopo police officer, accused of murdering a man sitting in a car outside a bottle store in Polokwane, made his first appearance in court.
Mphela Kenneth Mokwena, who holds the rank of sergeant, and is stationed at the police s Protection Security Service, appeared in the Polokwane Magistrate s Court on a charge of murder.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Mokwena, 36, allegedly shot and killed Moloto Kenneth Shongwe, 43, on Saturday night. It is alleged Shongwe was inside the vehicle at about midnight, waiting for his girlfriend, who was inside the store when Mokwena approached the vehicle and shot him. Mokwena then fled the scene, NPA spokesperson Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi said in a statement.
The motive for the shooting has not yet been established.
The police officer is expected to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate s Court on Tuesday on a charge of murder.
Limpopo police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe said internal steps will be taken against the officer. We want to reassure community members that the majority of police members are disciplined and conduct themselves in accordance with the code of conduct and set standards. This isolated deviant and criminal conduct allegedly manifested by this member will therefore not be tolerated , Hadebe said.
