The Monett Rural Fire Department is calling 2020 a successful year, with a total of 244 calls for service and no injuries to firefighters. Of the 244 calls Monett Rural responded to, 48 were fire.

Embers from burn pile blew under structure, causing fire
Camp Barnabas at Teas Trail lost a girls cabin to a structure fire on Tuesday after some winterizing clean-up efforts went awry.
Monett Rural, Pierce City Fire and Monett City Fire responded to a call of a structure fire at Camp Barnabas in rural Purdy at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
