Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association jointly announced Friday the latest COVID-19 testing results conducted under MLB’s COVID-19 Health Monitoring & Testing Plan. The independent Utah laboratory has reported the following results during the past week:
Weekly Monitoring Testing:
Total Monitoring Testing To Date:
43,928 tests conducted, with 12 total positive tests (9 players, 3 staff members); a 0.03% positive rate. Nine (9) different Clubs had had a Covered Individual test positive during Monitoring Testing.

Baseball, at least initially, will look very much like it did last year.
Players, staffers and media will be separated into different tiers. Mixing will be strictly regulated. Testing and masking requirements will be rigorous. Some of the strange rule changes from 2020 will be brought back for another year.
But the season
will start on time.
Detroit Tigers’ pitchers and catchers will hold their first official workout on Feb. 17. The rest of the club will join them five days later for the first full squad workout on Feb. 22.
