After years of near-misses between school children and cars, residents along Terra Linda's Manuel T. Freitas Parkway are celebrating the first steps toward fixing a dangerous intersection.

The city revised its striping plan to include a painted safeguard along Las Gallinas Avenue in Terra Linda.

The city plans to use funding from Pacific Gas and Electric Co. to bury power lines in part of the neighborhood.
