The Senate has summoned the heads of the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) as well as the National Security Adviser (NSA) to appear before it over the Christmas Eve massacre on residents of 15 communities in Plateau State. SaharaReporters reported on Tuesday that gunmen believed to be Fulani herders invaded the communities and killed over 200 residents mainly women, children and elderly in what several people and groups had described as genocide.

Nigerian Policemen Are Becoming Endangered Species; We Need Prayer – Inspector-General Of Police, Baba

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, has urged police officers to be alert, vigilant, and prayerful as they are becoming an endangered species in Nigeria. He stated that given the current situation, police require prayers for protection and guidance. The IGP made the announcement on Thursday while commissioning the administrative block of the No. 26 Squadron Police Mobile Force and a 1.7-kilometer internal road network at Mopol Barracks on Idoro Road in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

1,755 Boko Haram Terrorists, Relations 'Surrendered' To Nigerian Troops In Two Weeks – Defence Headquarters

The Nigerian Defence Headquarters says a total of 1,755 Boko Haram terrorists and their families surrendered to Nigerian troops at different locations in the North-East region of the country between July 28 and August 11, 2022. Among the number, it said 280 of them were male adults, 523 were female adults while 952 were their children.
