Porchfestmas is returning for its second year, this time with a new neighborhood and more crafts.

The Cole County Fairgrounds, before the Civil War, were southeast of the city limits. What today is the tree-lined Wagner subdivision was once the site of community picnics, Independence Day and Emancipation Day celebrations and horse racing.

Edith Vogel has prevailed in her lawsuit challenging Mayor Carrie Tergin's decision to remove her Civil War- referencing pavers from Adrian's Island.

The city is paying $12,000 for Edith Vogels legal fees in the settlement and the Confederate-related pavers will go back to the park.
