Deputy jumped into deep water to save another person who was also drowning, but that deputy drowned himself. Its not clear if the person he was trying to rescue also drowned. The sheriffs released a statement late tonight saying in part, we quote, Deputy Francies died doing what he was born to do, putting himself in harms way to protect the lives of others. He is a hero and is an example of exactly what is right in Law Enforcement today. Sheriffs are on their way to lake tahoe late this evening. Well have the latest tomorrow morning on the morning show today in the bay. Also new at 11 00. The sincer sensitive debate over life and death is heading to Court Tomorrow morning. Terminally ill patients and the doctors who treat them are suing the state of california for the right to die. This will be a highprofile case.
