K of C hosts Baby Shower collection for new mothers
An antique baby cradle is set up at St. Teresa’s Church where people can place donated baby items for new moms in need.
PAWTUCKET – Just in time for Mother’s Day, the Delaney Council #57 Knights of Columbus is conducting its annual collection of baby items for new moms.
“All the stuff you’d normally get at a (baby) shower, that’s what we’re collecting,” Paul Gendreau, chairman of the Council 57 Life Committee, told The Breeze. The organization, located at St. Teresa Church, 354 Newport Ave. in Pawtucket, will be collecting items at Mass on the first two weekends in May or members of the public can bring them to a drive-through event on Saturdays, May 1 and 8, from 3 to 4 p.m., and Sundays, May 2 and 9, from 9 to 11 a.m.
