Incumbent Susan Plaisance is facing a challenge in the March election from Kristen Olmstead in the race for a three-year term on the Mount Anthony Union School District Board.

Three of the four candidates for Select Board gave opening statements and answered questions from the moderator and the public at a forum held on Friday.

Incumbent Katie Aiken is facing a challenge in the annual March election from Frank Barnes, a retired longtime educator and administrator in local schools. They are competing for a two-year term on the Mount Anthony Union School District Board as a Bennington representative.

Selectboard member Robert Jarvis faces a challenge from Karl Strohmaier for a three-year term in the March annual election.

The Spinelli Field Ad-hoc committee will host two meetings in the coming weeks to educate the public about the March 5 bond vote for proposed upgrades to the Mount Anthony Union High School athletic complex.

This Saturday, Feb. 10, local student Thomas Saunders — now a junior at Mount Anthony Union High School – will sing on the stage at Carnegie Hall. He will perform alongside students from across the U.S. as a finalist in the 2024 High School Honors Performance Series Choir.
