Mount Sequoyah Center will celebrate 100 years with a series of events throughout 2023 starting with the Ringing of the Bells at 2:22 p.m. March 15 along with First Christian Church, St. Pauls Episcopal, Central United Methodist, St. Catherines at Bell Gable and United First Presbyterian.

After three straight years of pandemic- and weather-related misfortune, the congregation organizing the Little Rock Community Easter Sunrise Service has decided to cancel the event completely this year.

Hikers trek Homestead Trail: Hill N Dale Hiking Club will hike Thursday the Hedges Homestead Trail in the Buffalo River area. This can be either a 4.8 mile out and back or the return hike can be a bushwhack along the river, making it a loop hike. This bushwhack is a little shorter route, but involves some difficult boulder scrambling and climbing through a couple of ravines.

Hill Hikers walk Fayetteville -- Ozark Hill Hikers, affiliated with the American Volkssport Association, welcomes all walkers to join a walk on Wednesday in Fayetteville. Registration is from 9:30 - 10 a.m. at Walgreens, 524 S. School Ave. in Fayetteville.

FAYETTEVILLE -- Advertising and promotion commissioners on Monday supported a plan to use the historic Walker-Stone House near the downtown square as a musical gathering space.
