Barbara Kruschwitz, 71, died of Legionnaires' disease after staying at the Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa in New Hampshire, where another guest was hospitalized with the infection months later.
Both patients stayed at the $200-per-night Mountain View Resort and Spa in New Hampshire shortly before they fell ill with Legionnaires disease, which can cause severe pneumonia.
Legionella bacteria was detected in the resort hot tub. No other cases have been reported, and the bacteria was not found in the resort’s water system.
A New Hampshire resort hot tub is believed to be the source of two Legionnaires’ disease cases that left one Massachusetts woman dead and another person hospitalized.
