A progressive group condemned a recent decision by the Supreme Court to dismiss its petition against the implementation of fare hikes within the MRT and LRT systems that have been stalled eight years ago — stating that this would lead to more rounds of increases in the long run.

Officials of the Light Rail Transit Authority, Metro Rail Transit Line 3 and the Light Rail Manila Corporation were quizzed by stakeholders, Friday, regarding the formers push to increase fares in the LRT-1, LRT-2 and MRT-3 amid the Congress already approved budget in 2023.
