KUWAIT CITY, April 21: The Parliamentary Priorities Committee on Tuesday agreed to include in the agenda of the upcoming National Assembly session the bill on adding KD600 million to the budgets of various institutions and ministries for the reward of workers on the frontline of the fight against coronavirus, says Chairman of the committee MP Hesham Al-Saleh. Al-Saleh expects approval of the bill in the upcoming session of the Assembly and payment of the reward to deserving employees before Eid Al-Fitr.
Meanwhile, MP Abdulaziz Al-Saqaabi asked Minister of Education Ali Fahd Al-Mudaf about the procedures taken by the ministry to ensure that the companies providing security guards and cleaning workers which signed contracts with the ministry are paying the salaries of workers on time during the coronavirus crisis. KUWAIT CITY, April 8: MP Badr Al-Mullah has prepared a petition to remove National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim from office. Al-Mullah disclosed that he waited for Al-Ghanim to announce the rejection of the request of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid to suspend the grilling motions filed against him until the next round of this parliamentary term but the latter did not do so.

This has prompted him to prepare the petition to remove Al- Ghanim from office and he will ask his colleagues to sign the petition. He affirmed the petition is in line with Article 118 of the National Assembly Decree; which allows a lawmaker to submit a proposal, bill or petition that will then be forwarded to the government. He said the Speaker violated the Constitution and law during the session on March 30, 2021 due to the suspension of grilling motions against HH the Prime Minister for almost one and a half year.
