Brazil was devastated by heavy rains that caused flooding and mudslides in the country's Rio de Janeiro region and killed at least 94 people. The situation was compared to the 2011 natural disaster that took the lives of more than 900 people.

Floods and mudslides swept away homes and cars in the city of Petropolis.
