CM launches LAccMI scheme in Rayagada Koraput aimed at transforming transportation and bolstering rural connectivity. The scheme will provide services in blocks of Rayagada district, covering 182 panchayats with a network of at least 39 routes. It aims to strengthen the rural economy and bring prosperity in the region by catering to the diverse needs of the community. The LAccMI scheme will be implemented in a phased manner over the next 10 years with the goal of reducing the disparity in transportation options between rural areas and major urban centres and economic hubs.
Chief minister Naveen Patnaik launched the Mukhyamantri Matsyajibi Kalyan Yojana (MMKY) on the occasion of World Fisheries Day. The scheme aims to empower the fishermen communities and the state has allocated Rs 448 crore for its implementation. The primary objective of the scheme is to increase fish production and create employment opportunities in the sector. The state's water resources will be utilized for economic development. Odisha is the first state to introduce the Fisheries Policy and State Reservoir Fisheries Policy. More than 11,000 women self-help groups, 50,000 fish farmers, and more than one lakh fishermen will benefit from this scheme.
