Google's rumoured Android 13 feature could benefit consumers who are using two different SIM cards on their phones. According to Esper, Android 13 could come with a feature that allows two different telco numbers or profiles to be assigned to a single eSIM. This is possible via Multiple Enabled Profiles (MEP), which splits the existing SIM interface into two digital.
The new Multiple Enabled Profiles feature found in Android 13 code may or may not make it to the stable version, depending on how successful its testing goes.
Google may remove the physical SIM slots from Android phones in the future as the latest Android 13 Developer Preview 2 has hints of support for two carrier connections on a single eSIM.
