While mapping radio waves across the universe, astronomers happened upon a celestial object releasing giant bursts of energy －and it's unlike anything they've ever seen.

Scientists have just released the report on a strong radio wave source that was detected in the Milky Way just 4000 light years away – ‘like nothing else’.

Australian researchers have discovered a strange spinning object in the Milky Way they say is unlike anything astronomers have ever seen

Astronomers have discovered a mysterious, flickering object in the Milky Way that belches enormous amounts of energy toward Earth three times an hour.

A team mapping radio waves has discovered something unusual.

Researchers have yet to identify what the object is or where it came from.

'It's mind-bogglingly wonderful that the universe is still full of surprises,' says radio astronomer Natasha Hurley-Walker
