The murder of a caterer in Maharashtra’s Raigad district would have gone unsolved but for a vital clue that the accused left behind – a T-shirt with the name of a local resort.

SRINAGAR: Srinagar Police on Wednesday said that they solved the Batmaloo murder case in 24 hours by arresting the accused involved in stabbing a 45-year-old man to death in the Batamaloo area of Srinagar last evening.

Officials from Delhi police said that the victim and the accused fell in love while working in Mumba. The two came to Delhi after their families opposed their union. On July 2, a missing report was lodged by Mukesh son of Kailash Dhakad, a resident of Deendayal Nagar, Ratlam. Mukesh’s daughter was living with her maternal grandfather Prakash Dhakad since childhood.

A special team was constituted led by SP Satyendra Kumar Shukla to probe the case.

Police claimed to have arrested the man who allegedly strangulated the woman. A probe revealed that the case pertains to an act of rage.
