Pittsburgh-based fashion designer Tereneh Idia says she’s been thinking about constellations since visiting the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian.
“I’ve been obsessed with the idea of how constellations are made and how we identify constellations in space,” she said. “I saw that there are peoples of these countries that we now call America that saw the darkness in the sky as constellations, as well as the lights.”

Lack of preparation blamed for virus deaths
The federal government failed to prepare the aged-care sector for the pandemic. In Victoria, 655 (82 per cent) of the 801 people who died during the second wave were residents in private aged care homes. The Prime Minister, Health Minister and the regulator need to explain to all of us exactly how this heart-breaking tragedy – which many of us predicted – occurred on their watch.

Governmentâs arrogance in refusing to apologise
Victorian Ombudsman Deborah Glass has found what any right-minded person should have thought at the time â the lockdown of the high-rise towers, which occurred with only 15 minutesâ notice to tenants, breached their human rights (The Age, 18/12). She did not find there should not have been a lockdown, only that the manner in which it was implemented was against the medical advice and breached human rights. When it occurred, I was appalled, both as a lawyer and an ordinary citizen.
