Hay run brings relief to fire affected South Australian farms yet concerns remain regarding emergency communications

On Today s program: The small South Australian town of Lucindale is celebrating the arrival of 73 semi-trailers carrying over 3000 bales of hay, the hay run comes after bushfires torched farms throughout the area. Yet despite the celebrations there are lingering concerns from locals about the loss of communications and power during the fires, leaving them bereft of information.   Guest/Audio: Farmer Christobel Oldfield, Firefighter Nick Edwards, Telecommunications analyst Paul Budde The cost of essential items such as toiletries remains a daily challenge for women living in remote aboriginal communities. But products many take for granted are now reaching people with limited access, thanks to a charity called Happy Boxes . The initiative is helping to empower women of all ages and is even helping to revitalise language.
