Churches across the world coordinated a celebration for the anniversary of a piece of technology that changed the way parishioners experience chimes, using the chimes themselves.
The Trinity Anglican Church voiced a special composure for the city Saturday that lasted 30 minutes, bringing the celebration to 12 hours since the first bells tolled in New Zealand as part of the same celebration. Every church rang its bells at noon local time.
