looking forward, forward thinking. what do you say to a newscaster listening to our conversation who says, "what business is it of the government about what i have for my tea?" well, the business of government is to clean up... the free market is a fantastic thing, it gives us all sorts of things that you would never imagine you could have. i wouldn't imagine a planned economy you'd have a newscast mug... you would if it was planned by us! everyone would have one! who would decide what ink you can have on it. but it does, it does create dirt. and it is absolutely the job of government to make sure that the nhs doesn't collapse and that the commercial incentives for food companies don't make us an impoverished country and to cut into that. they're not going to tell you what to eat but they are going to do things like restricting, or they should be doing things like restricting advertising, restricting bogofs so that at least it makes it easier for most people
